Objective

The objective of the Digitalization in Renovation Construction course is to equip students with the skills to utilize digital tools used in the construction industry. The course covers the basics of building information modeling (BIM) and, in particular, inventory modelling, introducing the principles of their use and application. Additionally, the course aims to present the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and explore how it can be applied in renovation construction.
Upon completion, the student will be able to:
• Utilize digital tools and artificial intelligence in renovation construction
• Apply general building information modelling (BIM) requirements in renovation construction
• Utilize tools designed for analysing building information models in renovation construction

• Practical examples of applying digitalization in renovation projects
• Utilizing building information models in renovation construction
• Basics of building information modeling
• Using tools suitable for analyzing and commenting on building information models and other tasks

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

• The student is familiar with the concepts of building information modeling (BIM).
• The student can use software suitable for analyzing building information models.
• The student can retrieve and interpret data contained in building information models.
• The student has submitted all assignments required for the course.
Fail:
• The student does not demonstrate knowledge of digital tools or how they can be utilized in renovation construction.
• The student does not submit assignments at all, or the submitted assignments do not demonstrate even a minimal understanding of the course learning outcomes.
