Objective

Competence in structural engineering
Students deepen their knowledge and skills in the designing of concrete structures.

Content

- Measuring columns and pile footing, two-way slabs, column slabs, fundaments and ground slabs at the ultimate limit state
- Flow line theory of slabs
- Designing of strained concrete structures and how they behave
- Precast concrete structures
- The basics of the design of masonry structures
- Introduction of and guidance in using computer-aided programmes for structural design

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the basics of the design of reinforced concrete structures and masonry. The student is able to dimension simple reinforced concrete structures. The student is able to read detail drawings of reinforced concrete structures and to understand the importance of planning in a construction project.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to dimension different reinforced concrete structures and masonry structures. The student is able to take precast concrete elements into account in planning. The student is able to make drawings related to the given assignments.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the abilities above, the student has a good command of what they have learned and is able to apply it. They can also analyze the connections between different things. The student can make diversified analyses and draw conclusions based on what they have learned.
