Objective
The student is able to
- innovate, design and develop services and products in such a way that they meet the company's business goals and the client's needs
- conceive the experiential contact points and processes of a service/event/production
- design and build a narrative and physical framework for a service
- develop and modify existing processes taking the client's and commissioner's wishes into account, by utilizing user-orientation
- apply business principles and opportunities in the development of services

- Gaining and interpreting customer insight and involving customers in development projects
- Elements of value creation
- Meeting the needs of the users of services functionally and in service environments
- Contact points of service experiences and their design and modelling
- Improvement of services, development of new services
- Taking the company brand into account in design
- The course may include a development project done for an external commissioner

The student is able to implement a functional optional solution for the client and present it in an intelligible way.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student presents the opportunities of service design to the commissioner and is able to produce several optional solutions. The student is able to pay attention to clients' needs and involve users in development. The student recognizes the methods of service design and is able to apply them.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to illustrate the opportunities of service design for the development of the commissioner's functions and to create several well-functioning optional solutions for the commissioner, and present them in a marketing way. The student is able to take clients' needs into account and to involve clients in a development process. The student is able to convert theory into practical-level development activity.
