Objective

The student is able to

- define the key concepts related to healthy exercise and exercise guidance
- finds solutions for the client's individual health-related change needs and knows how to guide the change process
- assess the client's health with various measurements and methods, also utilizing technology and digitality
- use national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information in customer-oriented guidance and counseling skills.
- to plan and implement a goal-oriented exercise lesson for the group using different guidance methods
- justify and apply their activities in individual and group exercise, counseling and guidance skills.
- Recognizes ethical principles in their work and professional responsibility when promoting clients' well-being and health

- Health exercise and the key concepts of exercise guidance
- Methods and principles of health promotion
- Utilization of various measurement methods and technology in counseling and guidance skills.
- Finnish exercise and nutrition recommendations for different ages and groups
- Principles and possibilities of group guidance
- Possibilities and guidance of applied individual and group exercise in different environments

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Student
- - is able to define some of the key concepts related to health-related physical activity and physical activity instruction
- can find some solutions to the client's individual health-related needs for change and can guide the change process to some extent
- can assess the client's health superficially using various measurements and methods, but makes little use of technology and digital tools
- partially uses national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information in customer-oriented guidance and counseling skills.
- is able to plan and implement a mechanically goal-oriented exercise class for a group, but the use of guidance methods is one-sided
- justifies their actions in a one-sided manner in individual and group-based exercise, counseling, and guidance skills

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Student
- is able to define the main concepts related to health-related physical activity and physical activity instruction
- finds solutions to the client's individual health-related needs for change and is able to guide the change process
- is able to assess the main features of the client's health using various measurements and methods, including technology and digital tools
- uses national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information in client-oriented guidance and counseling.
- is able to plan and implement a goal-oriented exercise class for a group using various guidance methods
- is able to justify and apply their actions in individual and group-based exercise, counseling, and guidance skills.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Student
- - is able to define key concepts related to health-related physical activity and physical activity instruction in a broad sense
- can find versatile solutions to the individual change needs related to the client's health and can guide the change process in a well-founded manner
- can accurately assess the client's health using various measurements and methods, utilizing technology and digitalization in a versatile manner to support the assessment
- use national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information extensively and in a versatile manner in customer-oriented guidance and counseling skills
- is able to plan and implement a goal-oriented exercise class for a group accurately, utilizing a wide range of guidance methods
- is able to justify and apply their actions in a versatile manner in individual and group exercise, counseling, and guidance skills.
