Objective

Student
• Recognizes the different functions and goals of marketing communications
• Knows how to work in a multidisciplinary group, where strengths of each individual are exploited
• Knows how to plan and implement different functions of marketing communications
• Recognizes the essential target groups and knows how to communicate using the right channel
• Knows how to develop different functions using analytics and/or other feedback

Content

Wide-ranging and practical marketing communications, case: SeAMK. The main focus is in the practical working, but the course includes also theory.

The students are divided into multidisciplinary groups of different marketing functions based on the interests and knowledge of the participants and as well as the marketing needs. Is it possible to participate in one or several groups. The credits accumulate based on the working hours.

All functions are based on the goals and procedures of the SeAMK marketing communications.

More precise description of the contents:
The students familiarize themselves with the SeAMK marketing plan and calendar and also the strategy of SeAMK, which reflects to the actions of SeAMK marketing communication. The course includes going through the marketing communication actions and planning, implementing and analyzing new actions.

Group 1: Fair operations
- Fair theory
- Familiarization with the study fields of SeAMK
- Preparing fairs and participating in fairs
- Getting to know each other
- Distribution of work
- Building the stand
- Two days of working in the SeAMK stand at a fair
- The feedback conversation
- Cleaning and taking the stand out
Participation in the following fairs:
- Studia Fair in Helsinki 29.–30.11.2016, six students of different study fields
- Opinlakeus Fair in Seinäjoki 18.–19.1.2017, six students of different study fields
- Other possible fairs (the time will be confirmed later)
Group 2: School Marketing
- Brief to the subject
- Formulating a plan
- Presentation of SeAMK’s Degree Programmes and studying
- Marketing visits to schools
- Feedback
Group 3: Website developing
- Exploiting the analytics in the developing of the website
- Content production: planning and writing texts target group friendly and taking the user-friendliness in consideration
Group 4: Social media
- Analytics and content production in social media: producing texts and pictures to different social media sites
- Taking different target groups into consideration
Group 5: Taking videos and photographs
- Planning and taking videos and photographs

Further information

Opintojakso alkaa 19.9.2016 ja päättyy 28.2.2017. Opintojakson tunnit voi kuitenkin suorittaa jo syyslukukauden aikana. Ryhmään otetaan enintään 40 opiskelijaa. Joka alalta (kulttuuri, ravitsemisala, liiketalous, tekniikka, luonnonvara sekä sosiaaliala ja terveysala) pyritään saamaan opiskelijoita 3-6. Valitut opiskelijat syksyn opintojaksolle ilmoitetaan viimeistään 14.9.2016.
Syksyn opintojaksolle on ilmoittauduttava 9.9.2016 mennessä.
