PROFILE OF THE PROGRAMME
This Master's degree programme aims at creating development, management and evaluation competences to meet changing needs in social work and health care practice. The studies are linked to work community development through innovative practices and models. Students also gain knowledge in entrepreneurship, international collaboration and sustainable development. The programme offers students new competences and career opportunities.
The studies are conducted in a work-life-oriented, interprofessional, and diverse manner, using various functional, participatory, and dialogical learning methods. Learning tasks are completed individually, in pairs, and in groups.
Career prospects in the public sector: demanding client work in social and health services, service planning and management
• Career prospects in organizations: development, education and management
• Career prospects in the private sector: first line management, management, development of intersectoral practices and service models
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES
Upon completion of the degree programme students will be qualified to work in expert positions in health and social services. Their competence will focus on ability to develop and manage practice in the health and social field. The graduates may work in development and managerial positions, as consultants, experts, entrepreneurs or in first-line management in the public, private or third sector. Graduates are eligible for positions which require a Master's degree.

Development
Students come from the working life, giving possibilities to link studies to development of working life. Close collaboration with other Master's degree Programmes within SeAMK and also working in national networks will be included in the studies.
Objective
The aim of the studies is to learn to evaluate, develop, and lead the social and health sector and to respond to the changing needs of the field. Through the studies, students will become familiar with good communication, people management, and the importance of work well-being and work motivation for the quality and effectiveness of working life and the well-being of the entire work community. The studies also cover dialogue, dialogicality, and dialogical leadership and development as part of work community development. Additionally, students will learn what a learning organization is, how it is managed, and how it is further developed. During the degree program, students will explore the development of social and health sector work communities through research-based development activities and functional development methods. These work-life skills, as well as leadership and development competencies, also promote career advancement.
