Descriptions
Graduates of the Master's Degree Program in Applide Gerontology become specialists who recognize societal issues related to aging, renew age- and memoryfriendly services and environments, and promote the well-being, functional capacity, brain health, and participation of older adults. The program strengthens broad gerontological expertise and skills, providing the qualifications to work in demanding expert, development, and leadership roles.
In the development of services and environments, the emphasis is on the adoption of technologies and digital solutions, as well as evidence-based models, considering the needs, wishes, and opportunities of older people. In developing and managing work communities that provide services for the older people, the focus is on promoting workplace well-being to enhance the attractiveness and retention of the field. Through elective studies and the thesis, students can deepen their expertise in desired special areas.
Graduates can find employment in various expert, development, and leadership roles in the public, private, and third sectors. The degree qualifies for public positions and tasks requiring a higher education degree and for scientific postgraduate education.
