Objective

The student
- knows how to work in multi-professional child care, taking into account the patient's age, stage of growth and development, as well as different care and service environments and ethical requirements.
- can assess the resources of different children, young people, families and their close relatives.
- can assess the need for treatment in a controlled manner, plan, implement and evaluate nursing for children, young people and families in the face of the most common health changes, problems and illnesses of children, young people and families.
- can take care of children and young people of different ages and their families using evidence-based methods of helping, supporting and guiding.
- knows how to support and promote the health and functional capacity of children, young people and families.
- can guide and support children, young people and families in self-care and rehabilitation.
- knows how to deal with disabled children, young people and their families.

Content

Promoting health, supporting self-care and rehabilitation in child care.
The stages of growth and development of children and young people and supporting them.
Supporting parents in parenting and early interactions.
Nutrition recommendations for children.
Identifying and dealing with abuse, child protection.
Principles of pediatric nursing.
Nursing work, rehabilitation and guidance for children, young people and families in the most common children's diseases.
Care, rehabilitation and guidance of a disabled child or young person and their family.
Assessment and monitoring of the patient's need for care using the cABCDE operating model, the PEWS scoring system, key research and treatment procedures and diagnostic studies in the care of children and adolescents.
Key nursing assistance methods, care planning, implementation and evaluation in the care of children, young people and their families.
Multiprofessionalism in childcare. Guidance and support of children, young people and families in accordance with the principles of family nursing.
A safe treatment environment.
Resuscitation of a child of different ages.
Basics of children's drug and fluid therapy and pain management in children of different ages, approved drug calculation exam.

- is capable of client-centered and safe clinical practice based on ethical principles.
- possesses adequate skills in client-centered clinical decision-making.
- is, to some extent, prepared to develop client-centered clinical nursing.

- evaluates and critically uses evidence-based knowledge in client-centered clinical nursing.

- is capable of client-centered, responsible and safe clinical practice.
- applies alternative solutions to decision-making in client-centered clinical nursing.
- evaluates action and safety in client-centered clinical nursing based on professional ethical principles of registered nursing/public health nursing.
