Theory lessons 6 h, skills labs and practical training 12 h, written exam 1 h, independent studies

Content scheduling

First theory, then skills labs and practical training and exam
Managing an incident: action principles, life saving/ emergency first aid: assessing a casualty, unresponsive casualty, disorders of consciousness and circulation, respiratory problems: choking, severe bleeding, shock, CPR for an adult and for a child, defibrillation; medical conditions: angina, heart attack, stroke, seizures, hyperventilation, asthma attack, diabetes, allergy reactions; other first aid situations: wounds and minor bleeding, bone, joint and muscle injuries (extremities, body and head); effects of heat and cold, poisoning
First aid special situations and techniques and equipment: e.g. pressure bandage, tourniquet, principles of bandaging, how to support fracture and joint injury, arm sling/ triangle cloth.
