Content scheduling

The course explores the management of digital transformation through three key perspectives: people, strategy, and technology. Students examine organizational readiness, strategic decision-making, technology utilization, and the ethical and cultural dimensions of change. Learning progresses thematically: the role and competence of people, strategic leadership and organizational culture, and technological development with responsible data use. The course concludes with an individual essay and a scientific poster integrating these perspectives, complemented by peer feedback and reflection.

Objective

The student is able to - analyze the relationship between strategy and digital transformation - assess the impact of digital solutions on business processes and human operations - plan the realization, measurement, and management of digital transformation

Location and time

The course is implemented online between 29 October and 17 December 2025. Students progress independently according to the given assignments and deadlines. Attendance is demonstrated through active online participation, timely submissions, and peer feedback activities. One online guidance hour is organised in 26th of November via Teams.

Materials

The course material is in Moodle and it consists of current research articles and documented business cases representing different perspectives of digital transformation (people, strategy, technology).

Teaching methods

The course is implemented fully online as a guided, self-paced learning process. Learning is based on reading research articles, completing reflective writing assignments, and producing an academic essay and a scientific poster. Students deepen their competence by analyzing digital transformation phenomena through their own professional experience and by providing peer feedback on others’ work. The course progresses through the perspectives of people, strategy, and technology toward a comprehensive understanding of leading digital transformation.

Employer connections

The course is strongly work-oriented and based on practical application. Students utilize their own professional or organizational contexts in the assignments and analyze digital transformation phenomena from the perspective of their workplace or industry.

5 credits (135h) No lectures, the course is completed independently online. One remote support session will be held on 26th November 3-4 pm, the Teams link will be in Moodle.
