Content scheduling
The students will learn to introduce themselves, to tell some basic things about occupation, hobbies and towns as well to use some basic phrases in situations related to dining and grocery shopping and telling the way. The students will learn to use the following grammatical structures: verb conjugation in present tense, personal pronouns, numbers, use of articles, accusative and word order in the main clause.
Objective
The students will - understand slow and clear speech related to course topics - are able to communicate orally and in writing in simple everyday situations, such as introductions, telling about oneself and reacting e.g. in dining situations - are able to use the most frequent basic structures CEFR level A1
Location and time
Classes in Zoom in weeks 18 to 23, twice a week. First class Friday 2.5.2025 during 16.00-17.30 and last class 4.6.2025 during 16.00-17.30. Schedule in TimeEdit. Written exam in the electronic system 5.6.-11.6.2025 Oral exam in week on Friday 6.6.2025 at 16.00-17.30.

Teaching methods
Languages of instruction: German, English and Finnish Classes in Zoom, independent study and learning assignments. Oral exercises in pairs and teams, exercises on pronunciation, texts, listening, vocabulary and grammar.
Exam schedules
Written exam: retake in weeks 31 and 32.
International connections
Moodle and Zoom For the online meetings, students will need a pc or a laptop, a web camera and a microphone. The online meetings will not be recorded.
Completion alternatives
The course can be completed independently. In addition to the written exam and approved learning assignments, a mandatory oral exam.
