Objective
Students are cognizant of and familiar with community-based social work as an essential form of social work.
Content
Contents and objectives of community-based social work. The historical background of community-based social work. Students familiarize themselves with the subject and write a six-page essay on the following topic: What does community-based social work mean and how did it historically become part of social work?
Materials
Literature is agreed individually. The student is allowed to suggest relevant literature.
Teaching methods
The course is based on reading agreed literature and finalising the given written task.

The course does not contain cooperation with working life.
International connections
The aim is that part of the literature is in foreign language.

5 ECTS equals to approximately 135 hours of work for student.
