Objective
Students are aware of the background of various phenomena in society. They are able to describe the background of social problems, health sociology and social change. They can promote their interaction skills by focusing on the history of the clients' life course. Students can take part in discussion about society and they are able to seek information about how to influence decision-making in society. As part of their nursing competence, they are familiar with the social security system.
Students are able to describe the social and health services and the service provision and delivery systems in Finland. Students are familiar with the most important Acts and Decrees that govern the provision of social and health services in Finland.

Social problems and abnormal behaviour, health sociology, social change, the development of Finnish society from early 1900's until today, the welfare society, the social security system in Finland
