Objective

Upon completion of the course, students will have adopted basic understanding of management and leadership for social field organizations. They will be able to name development targets for the work community and develop their own work in a goal-oriented manner. Students will recognize links between management and occupational welfare and they will learn to develop practices that promote collaboration.

Materials

Kirjallisuuden käyttö ja materiaalit ilmoitetaan opintojakson alkaessa. Opiskelija valitsee käyttämänsä kirjallisuuden huomioiden opintojakson teeman ja henkilökohtaiset tavoitteensa. Kirjatehtävien tekemiseen tulee sisällyttää sekä suomenkielisiä että vieraskielisiä lähteitä.

Teaching methods

Luennot, harjoitukset, yksilö- ja ryhmätehtävät, yksilö- ja ryhmäkeskustelut, verkko-opetus, kirjareflektiot, yhteistoiminnallinen oppiminen, asiantuntijavierailut.
Teoria ja käytännön harjoittelu integroituvat vuorojaksoin.

Kokonaistyömäärä 104 h (luennot, ryhmätyöt, kirjareflektiot)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1-2:
Students are familiar with the basics of management, leadership and personnel administration in social field organizations. Students are aware of their personal development needs in work life.
Grade 3-4:
Students know how to apply theories, essential concepts, methods and principles pertaining to management and leadership in the social field. They are aware of their values, attitudes and responsibility in managerial duties.
Grade 5:
Students are able to evaluate and analyse factors and phenomena pertaining to occupational welfare and demonstrate ability to plan collaborative practices. Students know how to apply theories on management and leadership and how to develop the work community and their own work in a goal-oriented manner. Students are aware of how their values and attitudes affect their actions.

Qualifications

Major part of the first and second year study courses. The practical training periods "Social services producing social security" and "Psychosocial social work methods".
