Objective

Students are able to define a foundation for ethical action and the related theoretical concepts. They can explain general ethical principles, values of social work and principles of professional ethics. They are able to name what principles of professional ethics are involved in their future work as Bachelors of Social Services and to evaluate and describe the meaning of these principles. Students are familiar with international human rights agreements and ethical guidelines for health and social services. Students are able to define the concept of reflection and interpret its meaning in social field work. They have basic skills in reflection. Students are aware of the unique nature of individuals. They are able to detect value conflicts and seek solutions based on professional ethics. Students assume responsibility for their action and for the consequences of the action. They know and apply the principles of sustainable development. Students are aware of the importance of promoting equality and tolerance and of preventing disadvantage in regional, national and global environments.
