Objective
Competence in structural engineering
Students have basic knowledge of the formation of the soil and bedrock, of the composition of the various types of soil and of their suitability as a foundation for construction. Students know the most important regulations and instruction on foundation construction. They have basic knowledge of foundations built on soil and rock, of piling and of the relevant work methods. Students know how to seek information independently to develop their quality management competence.
Competence in the construction process
Students understand the role of geotechnics and foundation construction as part of a construction project, and take into consideration their effect on the total cost of the project.
