Objective

Students learn to analyse their need for information and approach it from multiple perspectives. They will learn to name and analyse concepts related to their topic and to choose appropriate sources of information. Students will learn to use library and information services. They will use various databases and the internet to seek information, learn to evaluate and re-plan their information search for better results. Students learn to name and keep up with important providers and sources of information in elderly care and in the health and social field. They will learn to interpret databases and web pages and to evaluate, select and adapt material according to Seinäjoki UAS instructions for written assignments.

Pass: Students know how to introduce the Seinäjoki UAS library and information services that are essential for their studies. They analyse and conceptualise their information needs, evaluate the information seeking and its results and when necessary, re-plan information search for better results. Students know how to use databases and the internet. They are able to name and keep up to date with important sources and providers of information in elderly care and in the health and social field. Students know how to interpret databases and web pages and how to evaluate material and select sources or information, applying Seinäjoki UAS instructions for written assignments.
Fail: Students fail to reach the criteria above
