Students will be competent in identifying plant diseases and pests and chosing an appropriate plant protection method.

Students will be familiar with the impact the climate in Finland has on the need to drain soils and irrigate crops. They will also be familiar with various drainage and irrigation methods and their use. Student can make nutrien balance calculations. They can also utilise related research outcomes.

Content

Drainage and irrigation methods.
Diseases and pests of plants and their control methods.
Nutrient balance and their analysis. Grassland production. Cropp production planning and and fertilisation programmes
