Objective
The student is able to
- identify the meaning of multiculturality in human interaction at home and abroad
- describe the importance of internationality and international competence in his/her studies, working life and in different life situations
- use different opportunitiees of internationalization in his/her own studies
- assess the effects of international networking, global megatrends and global responsibility

- International aspects of studies in universities of applied sciences
- Meaning and content of international competence
- Global economics and social development
- Encountering diversity and difference
- Multicultural studying and working environment and crosscultural communication
- United Nations Millennium Development Goals and Finland's development political goals
- Studies and training abroad as part of higher education studies, job seeking abroad
Materials
Litrature and articles, material on the intranet and Internet, material produced in seminars and for international cooperation
Teaching methods
Lectures, orientations, seminars and events, virtual studies, team work.
Student workload
Total workload 54 hours of student work.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Pass/fail
Pass:
The student attends the course meetings (unless the course is online) and, during them, demonstrates the competencies defined as the learning goals of the course and/or acceptably carries out the possible assignments related to the course.
Fail:
The student does not achieve the learning goals of the course and is not able to demonstrate their competencies.
