Objective
Students understand their professional responsibility for securing and promoting the safety of patients receiving drug and fluid care. Students know how to plan, implement and evaluate safe drug and fluid care for various diseases. They are able to dispense pharmaceutical dosage forms correctly. They know how to safely administer intracutanous, subcutanous, intramuscular and ventrogluteal injections. Students know how to observe side and combined effects of medicines and how to evaluate the effectiveness of drug care. They perform drug calculations correctly.
                    
Content
The nurse and drug care. Provision of pharmaceuticals in hospital and out-of-hospital care. Handling and storage of medicines. Drug calculations. Drug safety and responsibility for informing those involved, administering IC, SC, IM and VG injections. Effective mechanisms, side and combined effects of drugs. Evaluation of the patient's drug care. Action in risk situations.
