Objective

Competence in managing indoor environment
Students are competent in propagation, absorption and insulation of sound.

Design competence
Students knows the regulations, guidelines and recommendations associated with sound and noise.

Content

Basics of wave motion:
- Longitudinal and transverse wave motion
- Frequency, speed, wavelength and amplitude of wave
- Interference and standing waves
- Reflection and refraction of waves cs and reverberation time

Sound and acoustic absorption:
- Acoustic pressure and sound pressure level
- A filtering
- Equivalent sound level
- Absorption
- Reverberation time
- Resonators

Sound insulation
- Flanking transmission
- Airborne sound insulation
- Impact sound insulation
