Objective

Students master the basics of financial management, marketing, human resource management and law to an extent required for running a business. Students are able to use the essential modules of ERP-system. Students can explain the principles of business operations and how different operations are linked with each other. Students are able to work in different business tasks with a service-oriented attitude. They can work in a group and analyse the situation of the firm in general.

- basics of accounting, e.g. double-entry bookkeeping and closing of the accounts, payroll administration, basics of company taxation
- competitive tools of marketing
- trade fair
- marketing campaign
- customer contacts
- making a contract
- termination of employment
- voluntary and judicial collection of a receiveable
- recruiting new personnel
- analyzing the team

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (2-1): The student has carried out work and participated as instructed. The student is able to plan business operations. The objective of the course is for the student to be able to define the basics of financial administration, marketing, personnel management and law, which are needed to maintain a business. The student is able to explain the governing fundamentals of different business areas and how these areas interconnect. The student is able to function in different roles in a business with proper service attitude. The student is able to function in a group and is able to analyze a company's performance.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (4-3): The student has carried out work well and participated actively. The student is able to plan business operations. The objective of the course is for the student to be able to define the basics of financial administration, marketing, personnel management and law, which are needed to maintain a business. The student is able to explain the governing fundamentals of different business areas and how these areas interconnect. The student is able to function in different roles in a business with proper service attitude. The student is able to function in a group and is able to analyze a company's performance.

Excellent (5): The student has carried out work to an excellent standard and participated actively and constructively. The objective of the course is for the student to be able to define the basics of financial administration, marketing, personnel management and law, which are needed to maintain a business.
