Objective

Students will learn about the construction methods and structures of different historical eras. They will recognise the more common ways construction materials deteriorate as well as the types of damage in building components. They will know the methods for fixing damages.

Content

- Reasons behind the need to fix structures/renovate and the development of structures
- Strain and deterioration of construction materials
- Demolition
- Typical damage to foundations, frames and enclosing structures
- Frames and enclosing structures
- Reasons for the damage and methods to fix the damage
- Fixing/renovating various premises
