Objective

Students learn to define the concepts of social engagement/participation and marginalization. They learn to examine associations between social engagement and welfare from the perspectives of the individual, community and society, while taking into consideration various stages of the life span. Students are able to describe factors which jeopardise people's social engament. They examine the topic especially from the perspectives of poverty, addictions, criminality, homelessness and unemployment. Students examine social engagement and marginalization as a global phenomenon. They learn to see the issues of participation and marginalization as belonging to their scope of practice in the social field, and examine their personal professional interests.

Grade 5:
Students are able to define the concepts of social engagement/participation and marginalization and to analyse associations between social engagement and welfare, while extensively taking into consideration various stages of the individual's life span. Students are also able to analyse social engament from the perspectives of poverty, unemployment, addictions, homelessness and criminality, extensively paying attention to the levels of the individual, community and society. Students analyse social engagement and marginalization as a global phenomenon. They see the issues of participation and marginalization as belonging to their scope of practice in the social field, and reflect and justify their personal professional interests.
Grade 3:
Students are able to define the concepts of social engagement/participation and marginalization and to explain associations between social engagement and welfare, while taking into consideration various stages of the individual's life span. Students are able to extensively examine social engament from the perspectives of poverty, unemployment, addictions, homelessness and criminality, also paying attention to the levels of the individual, community and society. Students examine social engagement and marginalization as a global phenomenon. They see the issues of participation and marginalization as belonging to their scope of practice in the social field, and reflect on their personal professional interests.
