Objective
Students will learn to produce relatively extensive texts, which meet the criteria for scientific writing. They will know how to seek information independently and how to use it critically. Students will learn to assume responsibility for their communications and follow agreements and ethical principles for communicative situations. They will gain the knowledge and skills required to write a maturity test.
Content
-Writing a final thesis: demonstrating one's competence, command of the language, structure and style of scientific texts, language planning and correct usage, in-text references and reference list. Scientific article and research briefing-

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Grade 1-2:
Under supervision, students are able to seek information for their writing assignments.The scientific texts they write are lacking in form. The texts are not easily comprehensible to the reader. Students give scarce justifications for their arguments and use few or no professional concepts. Poor referencing.
Grade 3-4:
Students are able to produce scientific texts, in which they have mainly paid adequate attention to the aim, purpose, structure, style and form of the text. Students know how to use source material appropriately. They demonstrate that they have familiarized themselves with the guidelines for writing a final thesis. Their texts contain some interpretation, comparison and conclusions. The texts may contain some inaccuracy as regards the form but are always comprehensible.
Grade 5:
Students are able to write scientific texts whose aim, purpose, structure, language, style and form meet the requirements set for scientific writing. Students use source material competenly and are able to justify their use. They follow the instructions given on referencing. The texts have been formulated with reference to reader needs and they are proof of profound study of the subject and relevant concepts. The texts indicate that students have understood the contents well enough to reach towards new thinking.
