Objective

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to tell about themselves and their physiotherapy education in Swedish, to use professional terminology when they describe health and illness in clients, to write patient descriptions and to advise patients in various physiotherapy treatment situations.

Content

Swedish vocabulary for physiotherapy and health care, reading physiotherapy texts, writing assignments and practising interaction for physiotherapy practice. Topics: health promotion, common illnesses and interaction with patients in various treatments situations.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1
Students use simple structures and limited vocabulary, mistakes complicate understanding. Students understand slow and clear speech and relatively easy professional texts. They can cope with predictable worklife situations. Students' pronunciation is affected by other languages.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grade 3
Students use basic structures almost flawlessly and their basic professional vocabulary is comprehensible. They cope fairly well with predictable worklife situations and their pronunciation is understandable.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 5
Students use a variety of structures almost flawlessly and they have command over extensive professional vocabulary. They are active, independent and fluid orally and in writing in worklife situations. Near-native pronunciation.

No previous studies are required.
