Objective
Students will be able to define the basic concepts of energy. They can, also, list the most important arguments from finish point of view for different energy choices to farm and rural buildings. Students know the basics of renewable energy.
Content
- Physical backgrounds of energy technology
- Energy consumption figures in Finland and in finish agriculture
- Heating energy technology and energy sources used in finish agriculture
- Heat pumps
- Solar energy technology
- Wind power
Materials
Will be announced in the beginning of the studies.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Approved: Students will be able to define the basic concepts of energy and the use of energy. They will be able to describe the properties of different fuel and heating system alternatives for farms and rural buildings used in Finland. They will also be able to explain the functional principles of equipment associated with energy technology.
Qualifications
No prerequisites
