Objective

Competence in the construction process
Students understand the special characteristics of massive timber structures (log and CLT). They understand the basics of building massive timber structures.

Competence in structural engineering
Students understand the basics of planning massive timber structures.

Content

- history of log construction
- log and CLT as a construction material
- building a log frame and connected structures
- basics of dimensioning log and CLT structures
- construction physical functioning of massive timber structures
- repair of log buildings
