Objective

Competence in the construction process
Students are familiar with the principles, standards, and presentation methods of construction drawings (SFS standards, scales, line and marking methods). They can read and interpret construction drawings (architectural, structural, HVAC, and electrical plans) and understand how they relate to each other. They understand the role of drawings in the different stages of the construction process and know how to apply drawings as a means of communication in construction and design.

Structural design skills:
Students are able to calculate the key surface areas and volumes of a construction project. They understand the importance of document management and project banks in the construction process.

Competence in repari construction:
Students are able to read renovation construction and structural drawings and coordinate them.

Content

- principles, presentation methods, and standards of architectural drawings
- different types of architectural drawings: site plans, floor plans, sectional drawings, and elevation drawings
- structural, technical, and detailed drawings
- accuracy, scale, and quality requirements of drawings
- building markings, measurement principles and explanations
- drawing management, file formats and documentation

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students know the basics of the drawings in construction. They know the standard symbols and the importance of planning in construction projects..

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students are able to read building and structural drawings for new construction and renovation projects. They are able to calculate areas and volumes.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students have a good command of construction drawings, terminology, and markings and are able to apply what they have learned. They are also able to analyze connections between different issues. Students are able to perform diverse analyses and draw conclusions based on the issues they have learned about. Students are proficient at calculating surface areas and volumes.
