Objective
Competence in the construction process
Students are capable of using computer programmes in the designing process.
Competence in structural engineering
Students are competent in designing traditional concrete structures in ultimate and serviceability limit states according to the Eurocodes.
Content
- characteristic and design strengths of materials
- elastic properties of materials
- stress classes
- design of beams, single-direction slabs, columns, walls, and ground-supported wall footings in ultimate limit state
- anchoring and splicing of reinforcement
- serviceability limit state design: cracking and deflection
- structural guidelines: reinforcement and structural elements
- reinforcement drawings
- basic principles of stiffening concrete structures
- use of application software in the design and dimensioning of concrete structures
- laboratory exercises
