Objective

A working life development project implemented as a thesis is based on working-life-oriented problem definition. The focus of cultural production required by the development project varies according to the needs of working life and the area of interest chosen by the student and the student's own needs for development. The aim of the thesis is that the student is able to utilize the high-level competence gained through their studies for the development of the cultural production business of their work community/partner in cooperation.

Content

The written report of the thesis includes the problem definition, frame of reference and the empirical section of the thesis. A major part of the thesis is practical development work together with the partner in cooperation, which can be a private company or a public organization. The development project is characterized by the aim to realize real development actions, its working-life-oriented implementation, and that the effects of the measures taken can be assessed or predicted as part of the success of the thesis.

The student works independently to search information and material to one's own thesis

Teaching methods

The thesis consists of the student's independent work, taking into account the objectives, requirements, and criteria related to the thesis. The work includes planning, implementation, and reporting of one's own work. It comprises the student's independent work and various tasks related to the thesis such as: selecting a topic and presenting it in a seminar, creating a research plan, making an agreement with the client and obtaining a possible research permit; the written report of the thesis, following SeAMK's thesis guidelines and written instructions, Turnitin check, and the publication of the thesis.

Student workload

The thesis is a 30-credit unit that consists of 810 hours of independent work by the student.
