Objective
Student is able to assess and analyze the current state of the company from the perspective of growth and development of the business and evaluate existing key challenges to grow and develop the business from the SMEs point of view. Students can write out a growth strategy for SME and plan the key development proposals to implement the strategy. During the course, a growth plan with development proposals for an existing company is implemented.

The schedules can be found in the timetable at https://lukkarikone.seamk.fi/. Timetables are published for the next six weeks the first six weeks of spring by Christmas. Timetables may be subject to changes.

Teaching methods
The study involves active contact teaching and requires attendance at the SEAMK campus.
The course is conducted in the Moodle learning environment. The course requires independent work and scheduling.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to write the current state analysis and growth strategy for case-company, but pro-duces conventional present moment derived strategic solutions.
The student uses strategy design tools, but the use is not comprehensive and the data generated are not used as systematic grounds for strategic choices
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to write the current state analysis and growth strategy for case-company, but the analysis is not systematic and comprehensive and the growth strategy is somewhat detached
The student is able to use some strategy design tools in analyzing the internal and external environment of the company, but the strategic choices are not justified sufficiently.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to draw up a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the current state of the company and create an excellent growth strategy for the case company.
The student can use diversely strategic planning tools for the analysis of the internal and external operating environment of the company and is able to perfectly justify the strategic choices.
