Objective

Research methods 2 is an advanced course which gives a student much deeper information about qualitative and quantitative research in LIS. During the course student learns how to apply different methods to his thesis. During the course students will do excersises about different methods and analyze them from the LIS point of view.

Content

Qualitative and quantitative methods like discourse analysis and text analysis from the LIS point of view. Scientific writing and its tradition in LIS.

Excellent (5)
Excellent command of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Students are able to identify the basics of various methods of analysis. They understand the basics of analytic thinking and can apply both in analytical way.

Good (3-4)
Good command of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Students understand the basics of analytic thinking and can apply them both.

Satisfactory (1-2)
Students are able to create both qualitative and quantitative research design and understand the basics of analytic thinking.
