Objective
Students acquire a general understanding of the library network and different kinds of libraries, as well as the development and the current status of libraries. Student can present Finnish library network and its organizations. The student can identify essential library associations and organizations as well as international cooperation. Students are able to present the library and information services at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and to mention key sources of information for the library and information field. They know how to use library and information services.

Total workload of the course 162 hours.
Leena Elenius's share 1 ECTS or 27 hours. 6 hours of close meetings. The rest of the hour resource is independent/pair work.
Satu Salmela's share 5 ECTS or 135 hours. Approximately 50 hours of close meetings. The rest of the hour resource is independent/small group work on learning tasks.

- can describe different library services and library education in Finland to some extend
- can identify some essential library associations and organization, international co-opetation possibilities
