Objective
Occupational and environmental safety in construction
Students are able to manage the safe implementation of concrete and masonry work. Students can organise installation work and temporary supports with consideration for occupational safety.
Competence in the construction process
Students are able to take into account the importance of aftercare and formwork removal strength in concrete curing. They are familiar with the materials and operating principles of conventional masonry structures and the selection criteria for masonry units and mortar mixtures. Students recognize the operating principles of reinforced concrete structures and structural tensioning.
Content
- concrete construction requirements and general guidelines
- concrete work implementation and work supervision on site
- winter concreting
- eTiivistys
- special concreting methods
- special structures in concrete construction
- masonry structure implementation and work supervision on site
- site visits

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Students know how to manage safe and qualitative execution of concrete and masonry structures. They know the matters affecting the choice of material and concrete creep.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Students are able to recognise the most important structural members of concrete structures and different joints and supports. They are able to recognise matters required by special methods and special structures.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the abilities above, students master well and are able to apply subjects learned. They can also analyse connections between subjects. They can do versatile analyses and draw conclusions based on learned subjects.
Qualifications
Construction Materials, Drawings in Construction, Construction Planning, Concrete Technology.
