Objective

The student understand digitalization and is able to describe its development. They perceive the opportunities of digitalization for business operations. The student learns to conceptualize and recognize the key digital technologies, systems and infrastructures and learns to apply and assess them based on the needs to develop the organization's digital business. The student recognizes and understands such concepts of digital business as mobile technology, cloud computing, e-commerce, and big data analytics. Moreover, the student understands the special features of strategic management in digital revolution: understanding of the change in the operational environments and its significance for business, understanding and assessment of situational choices, or choices related to change in the operational environment and the company's resources, understanding and assessment of the significance of the competencies of the company, when moving from gradual development to an overall change in the core business.

Content

The course focuses on the concepts and models of digital business:
digital economy, connection of digital business with global economy, technologies of digital business, data infrastructures and platforms, strategies of digital business, digital technologies and services, logic of digital business: security, openness, privacy protection, and business risks.
