Objective

The student
- understands the patient's perioperative treatment path.
- knows how to work in a perioperative environment and in a multiprofessional work group, taking into account the individual needs of the patient.
- identifies the different tasks of perioperative nurses.
- knows how to act aseptically and patient-safely in the different phases of perioperative patient care.
- manages perioperative nursing methods and patient monitoring.

The surgical and anesthesiology department as a work environment
Patient safety and occupational safety in perioperative care
Aseptic working in perioperative care
The most common surgical techniques and instruments
The most common forms of anesthesia and supervision during anesthesia

Exam schedules

Students of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences: Exam will be held at separately agreed upon times. Students will participate in simulations either with their own group or with another group.

Students of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences: During the summer, you can complete the theory independently. Simulation and exam will be done either with your own group or with another group.
