Objective

The student deepens their understanding of the factors that influence human behavior. The student practices analyzing extreme phenomena in their social contexts. The student becomes acquainted with the research tradition of explaining evil.

Content

Getting to know the different scientific perspectives from which human evil has been examined. Examples of extreme evil and the background of phenomena. Narcissism and other personality disorders as explanations of evil. Demonstration of attempts to understand genocide. School shooters. International terrorism, ISIS. Evil manifested in fairy tales.

Materials are delivered by lecturer

Teaching methods

Lectures (hybrid opportunity), learning diary / essay on the topic, presentation of a TV series on evil, a film, a novel, a series of historical events or the like to a group of students with a discussion bar and participation in a discussion on presentations in Moodle.
