Objective
The students can take the central notes prescribed by law and required for the registers and databases used in the monitoring and planning of the production. They can interpret the indicators and observation results presented in the reports summarising the production. They know the objectives and information sources of the health care systems for farm animals. The students can explain the basic connections between the animal production, health care systems and food safety. They can calculate the amount and content of nutrients in the diet of animals.
Content
Gathering of information from animal farms for different registers and databases, systems and objectives in the health care of farm animals, interpretation of reports telling about the production, quality requirements and pricing principles of animal products, basics of feed analysis, feeding values and feeding standards.

Totally 133 h. Scheduled studies 60 h, autonomous studies 73 h. In multiform learning scheduled studies 35 h and autonomous studies 98 h.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students can name the most important data collected and the central ways of data collection at animal farms. They can specify the objectives of the heath care of the production animals and the most important factors affecting food safety and the quality of animal products. They can interpret feed analysis , calculations about the diet used in feeding.and feeding plans.

The students can take the central notes required for monitoring the production, animal health care systems and ensuring the food safety. They can explain the basic connections between the animal production and food safety. They can interpret indicators used in the reports and plans. They can calculate the amount and composition of nutrients in the diet and compare the results to feeding satndards and other guidelines.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students can explain, how data collected and reports and plans drawn up are utilized for different purposes. They can analyze and utilize the indicators used in reports and plans. They can calculate the amount and composition of nutrients in the diet and compare the results to feeding satndards and other guidelines. They can calculate the consumption of feeds in different ways and compare the results.
