Objective

The student is aware of the level of development, innovation and research competence and know how to promote it in the expert work in health promotion.The student keeps up to date with research findings and development ideas and applies them in his/ her work. The student develops public health nursing in an innovative manner to meet the needs of society and working life.

Content

Practical training in public health nursing in a placement selected by the student and linked to the student's Bachelor's Thesis. Assignments.

Teaching material will be announced in the course implementation plan.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1-2
The student
- demonstrates and manages the basic knowledge of the different aspects of health care work
- seeks information and justifies the use of data sources in health care
- justifies the action with evidence-based information for the development of health care
- is capable of independent decision-making in different situations and operating environments in health care
- operates in a customer-oriented and customer-friendly manner in health care
- is able to guide individual clients and their families in healthcare
- is able to promote group health
- works safely and in accordance with the principles of professional ethics of the nurse in health care
- acts as a health care expert in multidisciplinary groups
- is able to develop himself/herself and health care activities

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grade 3- 4
The student
- demonstrates the management of the knowledge base of different areas of health care and applies information widely in health care
- is capable of independent decision-making in different health care situations and environments
- operates in a customer-oriented, responsible and safe manner in health care
- is able to listen, support and guide individual clients and their families in health care
- is able to promote group health
- works as a nurse in accordance with the principles of professional ethics and safety
- evaluates and critically uses evidence-based information for health care development
- acts as a health care expert in multidisciplinary groups and projects
- is able to develop himself/herself and health care activities

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 5
The student
- demonstrates the wide-ranging management of the knowledge base of the various areas of health care and expertly applies it in health care
- is capable of independent decision-making in different health care situations and environments
- works according to the needs of the client and his/her family in health care
- is able to listen, support and guide the client and his/ her family in health care
- demonstrates the management of individual, group and community health promotion methods
- assumes responsibility for the overall care and service process of the client in health care
- independently searches for evidence-based information, uses it and assesses it critically in health care and his/her own development
- develops self-care and health care activities in accordance with the principles of professional ethics and safety

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Fail = 0
The student
- demonstrates inadequate management of basic information on the various aspects of health care and their application in nursing care
- insufficiently justifies his/her activities in health care
- is not able to operate in a customer-oriented and customer-friendly manner in health care
- has inadequate self-decision skills in health care
- does not take adequate account of ethical principles in the field of health care
- has insufficient capacity to participate in health care development work
