Objective
Students will be competent in utilising the mathematical methods in problems concerning basic level mathematics, physics and chemistry.
Content
- Mathematics (expressions, equations, right-angled triangle, percent calculations, areas, volumes)
- Physics (basics of kinematics, thermodynamics and electrostatics)
- Chemistry (reaction equations, amount of substance)
- Logic (logical reasoning)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to reduce and modify simple algebraic expressions. They are able to solve a standard linear equation. They are able to carry out simple conversions of physical units. They are able to calculate the mole mass of simple chemical compound.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to handle algebraic expressions fluently. They are able to solve a non-standard linear equation. They are able to solve simple equations concerning dynamics, thermodynamics and electrostatics. They are able to balance a simple chemical equation.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student masters the handling stages of algebraic expressions fluently. They are able to solve random linear equations. They are able to solve simple pair of equations. They are able to solve simple application problems concerning geometry of rectangles, right-angled triangles and circles. They master basic applications of dynamics, thermodynamics and electrostatics. They are able to solve basic applications of chemical calculations concerning amount of substance, concentration and pH.
