Objective
The student is able to plan, implement and evaluate the monitoring and support of child growth and development in cooperation with customers. He/she can support the child and his/ her family in health-promoting choices. The student is able to support the family in parenthood and promote healthy lifestyles. The student is able to assess the need for special support and care for the child and his family. The student is able to maintain and promote a safe growth community and environment in cooperation with families and various partners. The student is able to work as a public health nurse in a postnatal clinic.
Content
Child Care and Child Care Services. Child Health Check, Health Monitoring Methods and Assessment. Promoting child growth, development and health. Supporting resources and resourceful parenting, family life skills, parents' health and well-being. Strengthening customer involvement. Early identification of the need for special support and research, child protection, a safe and healthy environment and community.

The student
- demonstrates and manages the basic knowledge of the different aspects of health care work
- seeks information and justifies the use of data sources in health care
