Objective

In cooperation with families, the student can plan, implement and evaluate the monitoring of school-age children's and young people's growth and development. The student knows how to help school-age children and young people to make health-promoting choices. The student encourages the parents in their roles and in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The student is able to assess school-age children's and young people's needs for special support and follow-up care. Together with families and various stakeholders, the student promotes the creation of a safe community and environment. The student is able to work in the public health of school-age children, young people and their families.

Fail = 0
The student is unable to assume responsibility for clients' internal and external safety. The student does not know how to use
dialogue or client-centered discussion or how to involve clients' families and significant others in health care. The student is not able to know to an adequate degree how to use counselling methods to help maintain and promote individuals'/families' health. In counselling work, the student does not consider client individuality or self-determination. The student does not know how to promote clients' and their families' resources or how to intervene to fight health risks on adequate level.The student does not know how to use multidisciplinary teams to promote clients' health. The student is not able to recognize outcomes or effectiveness of health promotion. The student is unable to independently plan and implement target-oriented family-centered public health nursing or to make decisions together with clients and their families. The student does not know how to promote the health of individuals, families, groups, communities or the environment and is unable to use evidence-based public health nursing methods. The students does not know how to follow up or support clients' individual health, growth and development. The student does not know how to engage in multidisciplinary collaboration
