Objective

Students:

- are familiar with common quantitative and qualitative data collection methods used in physiotherapy research
- know the basic concepts of statistical science
- know how to collect appropriate quantitative data
- know how to deal with and present data at descriptive level
- know how to keep up to date and use existing research knowledge
-have basic skills in SPSS statistics software

- know how to collect appropriate qualitative data
- know the most important methods of analysis in qualitative research
- have basic skills in qualitative content analysis

- Analysis of quantitative data at descriptive level
- A graphical presentation of the data
- Basics of SPSS

- common data collection methods in qualitative research
- interview methods
- the process of analysing qualitative data
- content analysis

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Classroom attendance of 80% and participation in all SPSS sessions is required.


Pass
Students understand and have good command of concepts related to research. Students appropriately use and apply quantitative and qualitative methods of information seeking and analysis typical of the physiotherapy field. Students know how to plan and implement a physiotherapy research or development assignment. Students have basic command of the SPSS Statistics.

Fail
Students have limited command of concepts related to research. Students are not capable of using or applying the simplest qualitative methods of information seeking and analysis typical of the physiotherapy field. Students are not capable of planning or implementing a physiotherapy research or development assignment. Student have no control over the criteria of SPSS statistical program.
