Objective

The student
-is aware of the background of various phenomena in society.
-is able to describe the background of social problems, health sociology and social change.
-as part of his/her nursing competence, the student is familiar with the social security system.
-understands how health care and social welfare services are produced and organized, and how they are controlled and monitored in Finland.
-understands the roles of different action and service units as part of the care and service chain.
-understands their personal role in promoting the organization’s reputation, brand and image, as well as in creating a positive service experience for the client.

Content

Social problems and abnormal behavior, health sociology, social change, the development of Finnish society from early 1900's until today, the welfare society, the social security system in Finland.

The social and health service provision system in Finland, central Acts and Decrees that govern the system.
