Objective

Students will learn to:

-explain about aging clients' disorders, injuries and diseases and about the effects of medicines used
-explain how neurological diseases affect aging people's ability to function
-plan, implement and evaluate a physiotherapy process for aging clients
-work in multiprofessional rehabilitation teams as experts of their own fied

-aging clients' disorders, injuries and diseases
- changes caused by neurological diseases in aging people's ability to function
-giving attention to the effect of medicines in physiotherapy
-physiotherapy in pain alleviation and in the promotion of aging people's function
-multiprofessional collaboration in rehabilitation teams
-robotics and welfare technology

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students

- can name some disorders and diseases that affect aging people's ability to function
-need some guidande and support to plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapy for aging/neurological patients
-act mechanically in physiotherapy situations
-are able to name some assistive equipment that support aging people's ability to function, but need guidance pertaining to the choice, availability and use of the equipment and aids.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students

- can explain how disorders and diseases affect aging people's ability to function
-find solutions on how to plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapy for aging/neurological patients
-use multiple models to solve problems in physiotherapy situations
-are able to name the most important assistive equipment that support aging people's ability to function and to help clients in the choice, availability and use of the equipment and aids.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students

- can apply the knowledge they have learnt about how disorders and diseases affect aging people's ability to function
-find multiple solutions on how to plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapy for aging/neurological patients
-use client-centred models to solve problems in physiotherapy situations
-are able to name many assistive equipment that support aging people's ability to function and to help clients in the choice, availability and use of the equipment and aids.
