Objective

Students will generate various topics for projects and theses, which are of interest to them and which are related to their professional field, and choose the most appropriate ones to present in a field-related seminar. Students will outline their thesis writing process and gain competence in writing a thesis and presenting it. They will also learn how to work in seminars and familiarise themselves with the work of others.

Information Acquisition in Cultural Management (1 cr): Upon completion of the course, students will be competent in identifying their information needs and classifying them. They will also know how to choose appropriate sources of information to satisfy each need for information. They will be competent in critically evaluating information and apply it to their research problem and assignment.

Content

Choosing a thesis topic, planning the thesis writing process, checking the progress of the thesis process (incl. intermediate phases), participating in supervision, seminar work, fucntioning as an opponent:
- Specifying information needs
- Sources of information in cultural management
- Databases and how to use them
- Searching for information online
- Evaluating and applying information

Material distributed by the teacher, other material will be announced at the beginning of the course
