Objective

Upon completion of the course, students will recognise and use the basic concepts of culture-historical thinking. They will also be able to recognise different aspects of cultural history. The students will understand the main features of western cultural history and will understand the social elements that affected cultural history.

Content

Students will be familiarised with the basic concepts of culture-historical thinking and the stages of western culture. Every student will study an aspect of the cultural history in their assignment. The objective of the course is to improve students' ability to place modern-day cultural elements to a larger social context.

Material will be chosen from the list provided by the teacher

Teaching methods

The course consists of lectures 16 h, an essay and online assignments.
Feedback and evaluation discussion with the teacher online.
