Objective

The student is able to find and apply in practice legislation concerning employment such as protection against unilateral termination and legislation on the rights and obligations of different parties. S/he is able to make a valid employment contract and a testimonial.

The student is able to form an opinion on the legislation concerning the social security of employees and is able to describe and retell the essential principles and contents of the Collective Agreement Act and the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings. S/he knows the main contents of
the Working Hours Act and the Annual Holidays Act.

The student is familiar with the different payroll systems, job evaluation based pay and criteria for determining salary and payroll systems. Student can calculate salaries in practice, s/he also knows the monthly and annual routines of payroll administration.

The student is able to explain essential legislation concerning, for example, legislation on the rights and obligations of different parties. The student is familiar with the essential payroll systems.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to apply in practice the Working Hours Act and Annual Holidays Act. The student is able to find and apply in practice essential legislation concerning, for example legislation on the rights and obligations of different parties.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to find and apply in practice legislation concerning, for example, protection against unilateral termination and legislation on the rights and obligations of different parties. The student is able to apply in practice a collective agreement.
