Objective

Student knows basics of Adobe InDesign software and is capable to produce simple publications. Student knows how to create a document and export it as print-ready pdf-document to be printed in a print house (offset or digital). Student knows how to edit a photo and attach it to the document in order to be printed. Student knows the basics of a good layout and can produce one himself. Student knows how to select better fonts to a publication.

Teaching methods

Tavoitteena on, että opiskelija hallitsee InDesign ja ohjelman perusteet ja että opiskelija osaa luoda monisivuisen dokumentin ja tehdä siitä painokuntoisen PDF-tiedoston. Opiskelija osaa tuottaa Pdf- tiedoston sähköistä levitystä varten. Lisäksi opiskelija osaa käsitellä valokuvat painokelpoisiksi ja liittää ne dokumenttiin oikeaoppisesti. Opiskelija osaa tehdä värierottelun valokuville.

Sisältö
1. Mac -työympäristön hallinta
2. Adobe InDesign:
– sivujen ja sivupohjien käyttö
– tyylien käyttö (character / paragraph styles)
– sivunumerointi
– gridin laatiminen
– kuvan liittäminen
– painokelpoisen PDF:n tekeminen
3. Adobe Photoshop:
– Painovalmiin kuva tuottaminen
4. Adobe Acrobat:
– Painotuotteen tarkistaminen ennen painatusta

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is completed with a pass / fail assessment. Approved assessment requires all assignments to be returned to Moodle with approval.
